Chile..Put A Sock On This Crusty Foot!

25

So I went to a “beginners” technique dance class yesterday with a friend that in my opinion was very advanced! Our stretches were in my opinion so advanced! And there was a girl to my right with crusty feet and had the nerve to go bare foot, then her vagina turned and began to smell bad..later in the class the teacher got a little frustrated with me and made this joke that was out of order. She lucky I was nice because some people may have read her for dear life when she tried it like she did! Oh and let me just finish my thought that I start and due to my ADHD got derailed lol. The point I was trying to make with Native Americans and Mexicans was that both occupied this country first, and I believe them to be cousins. So if this land truly belongs to Native Americans that means their cousins can visit or live here if they wish. Don’t get me wrong if theres a process to it so be it but Arizona (My home Town “Adele”) need to ease up a little is all.

What kind of swing dancing is this?

3

My boyfriend and I recently started taking some ballroom lessons. I’m enjoying it a lot but I’ve had a hard time with swing. So I went on YouTube to find some videos to watch and practice with. Except none of the videos I found (and there were a lot) did the same step that we’re learning in class. So now I’m confused and wondering if I’m learning some weird form of swing?

The step we learned has me (the girl) take three steps to the right, three back to the left, then a rock step and repeat. So, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, rock step.

All the videos I saw had just one step right, one left then a rock step or a completely different step where the came towards each other then away and stood on one foot ahh! I know that there are different types of swing but I feel weird asking the teacher what she’s doing. Does anyone recognize this kind of swing?
Thanks so much Savoy South! You really know what your talking about. Cecile, you stink.

do you like this writing?

okay, so my friend loves to write, but she thinks that she sucks at it. so, i took part of her story and decided to post it on here to see what people think, and to show her that people really like it; and if you don’t, there is no need to be rude, just give criticism on how she can get better! thanks!

It was already snowing here! The mood and the buzz were centered on the winter holidays. Everyone was antsy and was tired of paying attention in classes of course we were forced to pay attention cause the Winter Finals were due to arrive in late January.
One Morning during breakfast, Tyler and Cody came over with sly grins on their faces that I instantly suspicious of.
“What’s going on,” Lucy inquired, her eyes narrow.
“Oh nothing,” Tyler said unconvincingly while Cody tried to disguise his laughter as a cough.
“No really what’s the secret,” Jeremy prodded.
“It’s not my place to say. I’m sure the Headmaster will be announcing in any second though.”
I couldn’t help roll my eyes. Why did boys have to be so complicated? I watched as the two boys burst out in another round of laughter. What in the world was so funny? I tried to expand my mind into theirs to find out, but I didn’t get all the way through before they realized what I was doing.
“Hey,” Cody explained grabbing my arm trying to distract me. “You don’t want to ruin the surprise!”
“Obviously I do if I’m going to such extreme measures to figure out what you’re laughing at,” I retorted, but that quieted them.
“Ali, it may seem extreme to you, but that’s normal here,” Ben explained gently.
“It is for me. I don’t like invading people’s privacy like that I have no business what they are thinking.”
Everyone was quiet for a long while. It was one of those awkward silences where no one knows what to say for one person stepped across the barrier and brought up a forbidden subject.
“If I can have everyone’s attention,” Professor Marks requested, we all stared up at him, the babble among us dying out. “As most of you are aware of the up coming events, that we participate in annually, but our first years are oblivious to our tradition. Every year right before winter break, we take a trax to Zinnia Viscaria and stay in one of it’s many turrets. There we will attend the Annual Winter Formal; it is custom that everyone is familiar with how to carry out ballroom dancing. Therefore till the end of the term, first years will be taking this class in the Recital Room.
“For the other years you can take a crash course for remembrance during your free time. When the bell rings first years if you will please follow your clan leaders to your new class.”
The bell rang and Professor Starwalker hurried us to the Recital Room. I could tell he was agitated my lips burned with questions, I struggled to keep silent. The class halted in front of a set of glass double doors on the east wing of the castle.
“Professor Burbank or Professor Shelly will be in here in a few minutes to let you in and begin your dance lesson,” Professor Starwalker said steely.
He turned on his heel and stalked away with bodily movements.
“Um . . . Ben,” I whispered.
His gentle blue eyes locked with mine. His lips twitched into a smile, “Yes?”
I was going to ask him why his father was so agitated, but then decided that was a weird, and came up with one of my many question from earlier, “What’s the recital room?”
“Well I’ve never actually been inside it, but Dad told me that it’s a room that’s only used for special occasions or if we have a special party or ball, we can use a more elegant room,” he explained quietly, the tension from Professor Starwalker’s uncharacteristic mood still lingered in the halls making even our whispering feel as though it was being shouted.
I felt Lucy jump next to me as we heard a hundred footsteps thunder on the stairs as the other four clans joined us one by one. Professor Burbank unlocked the double doors and we all flooded into the spacious room on the other side.
I observed the room. We were standing on elegant wooden floors, there was a mosaic in the middle on of the wooden floor was a pattern of glossy white, gold, clover green, and navy blue. There was a stained glass windows on both the east and west side of the room, the east held the rising sun and the west was the sun setting.
“We will begin today’s lesson by asking that if you are wearing shoes that you would please remove them.”
I gazed down at my feet embarrassed, I took advantage of the few rules on shoes and seldom wore them except to the dining hall or if it was too cold. So this little chore was one less thing I had to do. After everyone else was finished taking off their shoes (which by the way wer
oh, i forgot to add that this is just a snipet of a later chapter, and that the character can read minds :P

I made a mistake in telling this girl I like I’d attend Ballroom Dancing lessons tonight too. How can I not go?

This question is semi-emergency-ish:

Anyway, there’s this one girl in one of my college classes whom I’ve developed a really good relationship with. I like her a lot, she’s really interesting and we have a ton of things in common. This morning, she mentioned she was going to the first Ballroom Dancing lessons, and I (stupidly) said I’d be there, too.

Not only do I not have ANY clue how to dance, I seriously don’t want to go.
We’re not even dating or anything like that, so she’ll be okay if I don’t go to it tonight, right?

How can I be more comfortable with this dance move?

I take ballroom dance lessons and I am rather good at it. I have been dancing for about 3 years now and I really love it. I have long legs, a skinny frame, so I am made for it.

Anyway, recently I have started a group formation class. For those who don’t know what that is, it is when a group of people do the same steps while wearing the same clothes (usually black, plain, makes everything look really cool).

Anyway, at my last lesson, my dancemates were sick or on vacation, so I was the only one there. Me and my instructer got pretty far, and at one point I needed to do this step where I stick my but out and rotates it in a circle.

I am honestly not comfortable with this step. I have a competition coming up for this formation group and so all the girls will be doing this step, but I am embarressed about it.

How can I not be embarressed? I felt so strange while my mom watched (she always does) and my instructor showed me how far to stick it out.
And I don’t want to ask my instructor to change it, because I know this might happen with a different step so I really need to know how to relax about it and not freak out.

Help PLEASE! I need information on this kind of dance…?

I’m wanting to take dance lessons and I’d be a beginner for sure (i’m a young teen with very little dancing experience). I’m wanting to do ballroom dancing.

Here’s what I want to know….
-Different types of ballroom dances
-If it’s ok for my age (a young teen)
-Do you get assigned a partener? Do you always have a partener?
-What sort of things do you learn in a regulare ballroom dancing class/lesson?
-Anything else you know that could help me
-If I got a partener would they be way older than me?
-What would I wear to a ballroom dancing lesson/class?
-Around how much does it cost?

Please help me, I’m clueless but I want to know more about it before getting into it.
