I’m afraid I’d be in a class with all old people because I’m a beginner and all people my age would be really advanced… Also, how much would it cost? And would I take group type classes? I googled this to death and have no phonebook. I already do ballet, and now I want to try something new. I’m 13 and want to take lessons during summer, preferable cheap and group. Please only answer if you’re going to be helpful.

My daughter is almost 13 and has expressed an interest in Ballroom dancing.
My questions are:
-Does it matter that she hasn’t had any dance lessons (tap & jazz) since she was 6 or 7 years old?
-I know they have ballroom classes for adult couples but do classes exist for girls her age?
-Would she need to have a partner to enroll with?
I realize I can investigate dance studios around town but since I know nothing about this I’d just like to have some idea of what to expect or how generally the studios run.

So this friend of mine, who happens to be a girl, is taking dance lessons.
The other night she asked me to dance and i couldn’t, because i don’t know how. So i was wondering what you guys think of guys taking dance lessons?
I was wondering which would be best for general social situations, as in im at a party or whatever and someone wants to dance with me, or maybe i just want to dance by myself , i was thinking ballroom, but this place doesn’t offer ballroom dance lessons.
Also what im worried about is getting into say the same class as this female, and getting rock hard in my leotard (rhyming now!) Then her or someone else noticing. Is this a huge turn off or what?
Im partially doing it to get in shape, im 6 foot, maybe 6 foot 1 inch, and i weight 192 lbs.
So anyways, im not taking ballet because i have seen what it does to peoples feet, this girl takes Jazz dance, so maybe ill do that.
Let me know what you think. Im 15 btw.
