“I Gotta Feeling” Student Dance Performance – Greeley Elementary, Chicago
5
In May 2010, students from Chicago’s Greeley Elementary performed this dance routine to “I Gotta Feeling” for the school’s annual Fine Arts Festival. The dance performance was the result of an after-school, hip-hop dance class led by Urban Gateways Teaching Artist Stephanie Paul. Greely Elementary is one of Urban Gateways’ Community Schools. Also called 21st century Learning Centers, community schools function as the academic, cultural and civic hubs of their communities.
Extremely important: please recommend a general ballroom studio or teacher in the Chicago area?
1My boyfriend and I both work a lot and he’s in the city and I’m in the suburbs. During the week, we’ve decided we’d love to start taking general couple’s dance lessons or small group classes both to improve both of our very VERY basic skills and to have something fun that we can share regularly together. However, the sheer number of studios in the suburbs and the city as well as the daunting task of sifting through all of them is overwhelming me. I would love to hear your opinions, recommendations, and places NOT to try when it comes to weeknight evening adult ballroom private lessons and/or small group classes. 2 important key points though: I would prefer firsthand recommendations AND they cannot be extremely expensive (i.e. Arthur Murray–500 dollars for four lessons? Oy!).
Thank you so so much in advance for your suggestions!
