Is it too late for me to become a dancer at 26?
I looove to dance and use to take all kinds of classes when I was younger. I just recently began to take ballroom and the teachers say I have potential to be really good. It been tough for me though cause its very expensive. It seems like I can only go every few months and then I have fallen behind in what I learned. Anyway if I do get the money, is it even worth it at my age to pursue a career in dance??
…and if anyone has tip son getting cheaper lessons thats b cool.
you never too late for nothing
just do it
work extra hard.
My sister is a tap dancer and she’s 64. Go for it and you’ll never be sorry you didn’t try.
omg do it!
:]]]
money is nothing compared to passion.
But i understand :]
I hope something good comes your way ;]

Yes, it’s too late to pursue dance as a career, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it…
its never too late! if u love doing it then its worth all ur money
well if u luv dancing u should totally do it
Ummmmmm i would have to say it’s not a waste to pursue a dance carer at the age of 26 cuz i kno most dancers don’t become a dancer untill their late 30′s.
its never to late. sports and other athletic carrers dont leave a big age window, but if you love it, get it going! you never know, mabey you can become famous for it! if money is an issue, go to classes when you can, and get a friend from the class to teach you what they learned in the class when you cant go.
I don’t think dancing isn’t too late at any age as long as your fit !!!
I am sorry but it is to late for a career in dance. Most dancers are done with their carreer when they are thirty. And you have to be the best of the best. BUt keep dancing just do it for fun. Anyway dancer’s don’t get paid alot anyway.
If you want a career in dance, you might want to jump right in. The franchise studios take people with zero dance experience and train them up to teach. You may wind up teaching social dance to beginners for a few years, but that’s a foot in the door, and you get paid to learn how to dance.
i would say, when the class is smaller you get more out of it because the teacher can recognize you as an individual and can help you specifically on the parts you struggle with.
Your not to old to start up dance. Rock on dancers!
Hey Raquel,
Well first, I must tell you that its NEVER too late, to pick up those dancing shoes and get on the floor
. I myself, have started taking lessons at 25 with goals of becoming a professional instructor.. so yes, it’s not too late. I do have some recommendations I can offer you if you’re still in the search for classes. Let me know if your interested.

take care and happy dancing,

Most people who have said “No its not too late” probably hasn’t had any experience in the dancing world.
It will be VERY hard for you to make dance as a career, the people who you will be auditioning against have probably been dancing for over 20 years.
Definitely continue for enjoyment, but your chances on making dance as a career with very little training are very slim…
I hope this helps
i feel like ive waisted my whole life. ive always had only one passion and its dancing.. im 24 now and i feel like i need to try and go for it! it even doesent matter will i make it, it is all about going for it .. it will be hard, competition is probably well high but only god knows.. maybe my passion will drive me threw it : ) erm … hmm … ????
Hi, I too am 26. And I too feel that dancing has always been my passion, but my parents didn’t believe that dancing or singing would take me anywhere in the world. I’m going to do this, and to all those that say it’s impossible.. the reality is we can do anything we put our mind to with a help of belief into miracles and something higher than we are. Passion, love and dedication is going to be the key to my dancing carreer
